Stars Girls Set to Travel

A Toronto Stars Under 15 Girls Field Lacrosse squad will be travelling to upstate New York (Geneva area) on May 3-4 to play two games of field lacrosse against USA girls of the same age. It is expected the girls will also get to visit a university campus and perhaps see an American University Women's Field Lacrosse game if time allows. It will be the first exhibition weekend which will lead into the Rep team's innaugural season in the Ontario Women's Lacrosse (OWL) League. The team will be coached by Reid Sheppard and Heid Calder; and managed by Todd Kirlik..

Members of the Toronto Stars Bantam and Peewee Rep Program will be travelling to Vancouver to play in the Salmonbelly Jamboree on June 5-10. 14 Bantam and Peewee Girls from last year's squads will form the travelling team and play in a 40 team box lacrosse tournament. It is believed it is the first time that a girls box lacrosse team from Ontario has travelled to play in B.C. (certainly in recent memory)! The laxers will play 3-4 Box Lacrosse Games and 1 Field Lacrosse Game while they are in B.C.. They will also get to visit the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame and play at the historic Queens Park Arena on the only wooden floor in Canada! Members of the squad include: Ella Calder, Geneva Calder, Melissa Chandler, Charly Degen, Kelsey Hillhouse, Abby Kirlik, Chantal Lapierre, Blair Malthaner, Charmaine Mason, Rhiannon Ness, Erin Smith, Shannon Smith, Stacy South and Jenni Thompson.
